Your membership and billing
Account › Billing shows your membership: its level and chapter, what it costs, and when it next renews. You manage it there yourself.
Renewal
Your membership renews automatically, every year or every month as your offer said. We email you before each renewal (30 days before for annual memberships, 7 days before for monthly ones) with the date and the amount. If you'd like to keep it, there's nothing to do.
If your offer said you keep the price you joined at, your membership renews at that price for as long as you stay a member.
A complimentary membership costs nothing and doesn't renew.
Your card and invoices
Card and invoices opens our card provider's secure page, where you change your card and download invoices. If you pay with PayPal, Manage in PayPal opens your PayPal automatic payments.
If a payment fails
If a renewal payment doesn't go through, Billing says so. You keep access while the payment is tried again; update your card so your membership continues.
Cancelling
Click Cancel renewal, then confirm. Your membership ends on the date shown and won't renew. You keep access until then.
- Paying by card: you can change your mind before that date: Keep my membership.
- Paying with PayPal: PayPal stops your payments straight away, and it can't be undone. To stay a member after the end date, write to our team at the address at the bottom of the page.
Pausing
Monthly memberships paid by card can pause, instead of cancelling.
- Click Pause, and choose to skip 1, 2 or 3 months.
- Click Pause membership.
The pause starts when the month you've paid for ends. During it, nothing is charged, member features are off, and you don't get the weekly email. Billing and access start again on their own when it ends.
You can call it off before it starts (Call off the pause). Once it has started, it runs to its end date.
Annual memberships can't pause; cancel instead. PayPal can't pause a membership either.
